EQUATERRA
EQUATERRA aims to deliver an integrated portfolio of social, bio-based, nature-based, circular construction and digital solutions to address the environmental and socio-economic challenges of post-conflict recovery.
Its AI-enhanced digital platform, data lake, Decision Support System and open-access data portal will act as a gateway to project results, enabling stakeholders to map degradation, assess remediation options, access FAIR data and support evidence-based green reconstruction planning.
EQUATERRA will co-develop, prototype, test, validate and demonstrate community-led social, technological and business innovations through three Systemic Innovation Pilots in Ukraine: a Soil SIP for restoring contaminated agricultural land, a Water SIP for remediating the Irpin river basin, and a Construction SIP for valorising conflict-derived debris into circular, bio-enhanced construction materials. These pilots will provide real-world validation of the project’s solutions and a replicable blueprint for building back greener, safer and more resiliently in Ukraine and other post-conflict regions.
